In short
- We collect only what you type into the beta or Box form.
- We use it to manage those lists and write to you about the beta or the Box.
- We do not sell it, and we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking.
- You can unsubscribe, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Live Caption Studio is made by Neural Twiin, 5450 rue Jarry Est, bureau 100, Montréal (Québec) H1P 1T9, Canada. Neural Twiin is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Our person in charge of the protection of personal information is our Privacy Officer. You can reach them at [email protected] or at the address above.
What this policy covers
This policy covers livecaptionstudio.com and the beta and Box interest forms on it. It does not cover the Live Caption Studio application, which is not released yet; when it is, it will have its own notice. It also does not cover neuraltwiin.ai, which has its own privacy policy.
What we collect
What you give us. When you join the beta list, we collect your email address, your name if you choose to give it, your country, the language you want our emails in, and the answers you choose to give about your room and setup: audience type, switcher, presentation software, audio setup, computer, GPU, languages and notes. When you join the Box list, we collect the same contact details and your answers about quantity, inputs, outputs and timeline.
Technical information. When you load a page, Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider, processes your IP address, browser type, the page you requested and the time. We use this to serve the site and keep it secure. Our beta database does not store your IP address. Turnstile, our spam check, also processes browser signals and your IP address to decide whether a form was filled by a person.
We do not ask for payment details, passwords, government ID, health information or other sensitive information. Please do not put that kind of information in the notes field.
How we use it
To send you the confirmation email and check that the address belongs to you.
To keep the beta and Box lists and understand how many people are interested.
To invite you to the beta, send product updates and ask questions about your setup.
To send Box availability news, if you joined the Box list.
To understand which rooms and setups to support, using the answers in aggregate.
To keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or automated decisions. We do not sell it.
Our legal basis and your consent
We rely on your consent for the beta and Box lists. You give it by ticking the consent box and sending the form. We use a double opt-in: nothing is active until you open the confirmation link we email you, so we know the consent is yours.
You can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. Withdrawing stops future emails; it does not affect what we did before. Joining the lists is never a condition of using the site or of any purchase.
The beta list and the Box list are separate. Joining one does not add you to the other.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. We use service providers who process it only for us:
- Cloudflare: hosting, the D1 database, Turnstile and security. Your form data is stored in Cloudflare’s D1 database in the United States (East).
- Resend: sends our emails and keeps the contact list, in the United States.
- Our professional advisers, if we need legal or accounting advice.
- Authorities, if the law requires it or if we need to protect someone’s safety.
Where your information is stored
Cloudflare and Resend are in the United States, so your information may be processed there. Before sending personal information outside Québec, we assess the protection it will receive: the sensitivity of the information, the purpose, the contractual safeguards and the law of the destination. We use data protection terms with both providers. You can write to us for more information about these transfers.
How long we keep it
If you do not confirm your email, we delete your answers within 37 days. We may keep your email address, the date and the fact that you asked, as proof that we had your consent, unless you ask us to delete that too.
If you confirm, we keep your information until you withdraw or ask us to delete it.
If you withdraw, we stop sending you email and delete your confirmation links. We keep your signup record, the answers you gave and the consent history as proof that you consented and then withdrew. You can ask us to delete that too.
Cloudflare keeps technical logs under its own retention schedule. We do not have a copy of those logs in our database.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymize it.
How we protect it
We protect your information with HTTPS, access controls on the database and the email account, encrypted secrets, a strict content security policy and a spam check. Only people who need the information can see it.
No method is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a serious risk of harm, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people affected, as Québec’s privacy law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to: confirm what we hold about you and give you a copy; correct information that is wrong, incomplete or ambiguous; delete information you gave us; withdraw your consent; receive the information you gave us in a structured, commonly used format; or explain how we use your information.
Write to [email protected]. We may ask for proof of identity before answering. We answer within 30 days; if we need more time, we will tell you why. If we refuse, we will give our reasons and the law we rely on.
You can also complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, profiling cookies or cross-site trackers. We do not use Google Analytics.
Cloudflare Turnstile, our spam check, processes browser signals and your IP address and may use strictly necessary security storage to tell people from bots. It is not used for advertising.
You can block cookies in your browser. The site should still work, but the form may not submit if Turnstile is blocked.
Children
This site is for people who run events, churches, schools, councils and companies. It is not directed to children under 14. We do not knowingly collect information from a child under 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you think a child gave us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the last change. If we make a material change, we will tell confirmed subscribers by email or put a notice on this page before it takes effect.
